British designer Daniel Lee is leaving Bottega Veneta. This is stated in an unexpected statement by Kering. The designer worked as creative director of the brand for a little over three years, joining the fashion house on July 1, 2018.
"Bottega Veneta and Daniel Lee announce their joint decision to end their collaboration," said Kering. "He brought new energy to the brand and made a great contribution to its development." The reasons for such a decision are not mentioned.
During her time at Bottega Veneta, Lee managed to popularize the brand widely through radical strategies such as deleting her Instagram account and organizing secret salon shows. In addition, the designer managed to create several iconic accessories and rethink the image of the brand.
“My time at Bottega Veneta was incredible. I am grateful to have worked with an exceptional and talented team, and I am extremely grateful to everyone involved in creating our vision. Thank you to François-Henri Pinault for his support and the opportunity to be a part of Bottega Veneta history," Lee said in a statement.
